Dr. Atri is the Senior Remote Sensing and Environment Specialist and is responsible for applying Geospatial Technology in analyzing the ecological aspects. Atri owns expertise in application of remote sensing with the purpose of eco-based natural resource management and climate change related projects. Some examples are assessing the spatial and temporal land cover changes, forest cover and forest type modeling PAN India.
Apart from that Atri also supports collection of various primary and secondary ecological data that facilitate preparation of geospatial layers which have potential to reveal critical ecological and anthropogenic drivers stemming from deforestation and land degradation in India. Other areas of her expertise are reconnaissance surveys at the project sites for monitoring and evaluation of changes, assessing the vulnerability of the area of interest for project planning, implementation and monitoring, RS and GIS training to various state forest departments and universities across India.
